Welcome to Footbagger!

Thank you for stalling your day, and popping in to view my online store.

I hope the delay is worth it, and that somewhere in my collection of awesome footbags there is at least one beauty that catches your eye.

This Is Me

Richard SampsonMy name is Richard Sampson, I have been running the Footbagger store since 2001.

Footbagger is a one-person business (that’s me!), located in the foothills of Mt Wellington, near Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

I take a lot of pride in designing and supplying awesome footbags. I strive to provide a fast and reliable mail order service, backed up with quality customer service.

My Story

My interest in kicking footbags started in the early 1980s, when I purchased an original 2-panel Hacky Sack. As a mad-keen football (soccer) player, it was just another way of having fun kicking a ball.

In the mid 90s, I was still playing football, but also became obsessed with disc golf (aka Frisbee Golf). To my delight, I found that disc golfers were also keen footbaggers. It was common place for a circle kick before and after a round of disc golf. It was during this period that I really found the game and discovered high quality footbags.

In the late 90s, I started a disc golf business, Discology (www.discology.com.au).

There was a synergy between disc golf and footbag, so it was a natural progression to add my footbag interest to my business interests.

So, in 2001 I launched the Footbagger online store.

Looking Forward

I’m now in my 50s, so not quite as fast and flexible as I used to be (or like to be!). However, I’m still very active, still loving playing disc golf, and the occasional circle kick, and have taken up mountain biking.

I love the simplicity of footbag and how it brings people together, much like the Frisbee.

I am still passionate about designing and producing awesome footbags and making them available to people in all corners of Australia.

Thank you again for stopping by my store.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

All the best,
Richard
